There are losses that change us forever. The empty chair remains. The familiar voice is no longer heard. The hand we once held is no longer within our reach. Love continues, even when the one we love can no longer walk beside us.
Christ does not ask us to pretend that such sorrow is small. He Himself stood before the tomb of His friend Lazarus and wept. In those sacred tears, we discover a Saviour who understands the grief of every widow, every widower, every parent, every child, and every heart that mourns.
Yet His tears were not the end of the story. Through His own Death and Resurrection, Christ transformed the grave from a place of final separation into the doorway of eternal hope. For those who belong to Him, love is never extinguished, and death never has the final word.
